I’m laying all the usual shenanigans aside today because I have a very important matter to discuss. It is a life or death situation. Who’s life? Chuck Bartowski.
Chuck is one of my new favorite television shows. Well, new to me, because like a lot of things when you have a toddler, I came into it late in the game. Chuck is actually nearing the end of its second season, but I have just recently become a fan. About a month ago LB and Ada went out of town for a week so I had plenty of time to kill. I spent that whole week catching up on Chuck. From the first few episodes, I declared it one of my new top shows, which is saying a lot considering my spiritual gift is television. Since that week, I have been able catch all 31 televised episodes.
I could give you a rundown of the synopsis, but I am all about efficiency. There is no need for me to do that when Wikipedia has already done it for us. Go here, and check it out.
OK, I say all that so you would understand my terror this morning when I read one of my favorite TV blogs. It said that Chuck hasn’t been picked up for a third season yet and is on the verge of being cancelled. This is out of left field, or is it right field? Never mind. This came out of nowhere. I’ve only heard great things about the show. That’s the only reason I checked it out, it seems everybody who watches it, loves it. I know that was the case for me.
Now, as soon as I get into it, it’s going to get cancelled? This cannot happen. Not just because it would mean I wasted the entire month of March catching up on it, that’d be selfish reasoning and you know I’m about the people, but because the TV world would be losing a great show. For reasons why, I'll refer you to someone who can articulate it a lot better than I can - GMMR's post.
I’m not giving up without a fight and that’s where you come in. I have never asked you for anything and probably never will again (until there is something else I need. And just to clarify, if you ever feel the need to send donations, they will not be rejected.) Tonight at 8:00pm EST, I ask you to tune into NBC and watch Chuck, not just for me but for yourself too. At the very least, just go through your house and turn all the TV’s on to NBC. I’m not sure if that really helps, but it will make you feel better when you lay your head down on the pillow tonight knowing you did everything you could to help Chuck and me out.
If you’re already a Chuck fan, let’s talk. What’s your favorite episode(s)? Also, do your part to save him. Blog it, write your congressman, whatever it takes. Semper Fi, Chuck.
PS: You can make those donation checks out to Scott Moore; that’s two T’s, two O’s. Thanks.
UPDATE: Great get-up-to-speed article at GMMR.

Scott,
I am in the same boat as you. I recently got into Chuck (about a month and a half ago). I had been meaning to get into for some time but couldn't (I have a 17 month toddler as well).
I finally bit the bullet and started watching the show. I had to play catch up, so I made the investment and bought the all the episodes off of iTunes.
I love this show. It has surpassed all of my other favorite shows by a mile. These are characters that you root for and enjoy watching develop. Obviously, the Chuck and Sarah aspects of the show are great, but so is everything else.
It is simply the most entertaining hour on television today. It is criminal that it has yet to be renewed by NBC. I hope and pray that it gets another season.
I don't even want to think about it not being renewed.
I have tried to do my part - spread the word to friends and family, watch it live, buy the episodes on iTunes and DVD as well. Next I will write a letter(s) to NBC proclaiming the greatness of Chuck and the necessity of its renewal.
As far as favorite episodes go mine are -
The Pilot, The Imported Hard Salami, The First Date, Seduction, Tom Sawyer, Santa Claus, Best Friend. But this weeks The Dream Job took the show into epic territory.
No question, Chuck is the best show on TV right now.

Vlado,
I agree with everything you said. Also, I've never actually written to a television station, but I'm thinking there is a first time for everything.
I agree with all of your favorite episodes. Especially Santa Clause, it was good to see Carl Winslow again. I just kept waiting for Urkel to pop up somewhere. You'd think he'd be right at home in a Buy More.
LOL I just read when I clicked on the link for Wickipedia...I didn't spell that right but oh well...is it Wikipedia? I BET IT IS. LOL Anyway...I read that they have decided to make a third season so I am SURE that you are VERY happy. :)
